PIVOT Receives $900K Federal Grant

From OSI Baltimore -

“Members of Maryland’s Congressional delegation announced a $900,000 Federal grant to two Baltimore-based organizations founded by OSI-Baltimore Community Fellows that support Black women returning from incarceration and into the workforce. PIVOT, a workforce reentry program founded by 2019 OSI Fellow Emily Thompson and led by Executive Director Veronica Jackson, connects formerly incarcerated Black women with critical resources as they prepare to return to their communities. Participants in PIVOT’s programs have an employment placement rate of 70 percent and a recidivism rate of less than 5 percent.

PREPARE, founded by 2019 OSI Fellow Elizabeth Finne as the Parole Preparation Project, provides pre-release services and reentry planning as part of the parole process and will work in partnership with PIVOT.”
